6 Filipino Innovations Featured in Inaugural Tech Exhibition

The Philippine delegation showcased six unique homegrown Filipino innovations before an international audience of investors, technology leaders, multinational companies, and research institutions, highlighting the country’s growing capability to develop globally competitive solutions across healthcare, education, sustainability, workforce innovation, and digital transformation.

Supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute’s (DOST-TAPI) Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibit (SPICE) Program, the Philippine delegation generated new international business leads, established strategic connections with potential partners and investors, and gained valuable market insights during the inaugural LEAP East Hong Kong 2026.

The mission enabled Filipino innovators to showcase their technologies to a diverse international audience composed of startups, investors, multinational companies, government agencies, and research institutions. Through business matching, networking sessions, and technology exhibits, the delegation explored potential collaborations, market opportunities, and pathways for expanding Filipino innovations into regional and global markets.

Representing the Philippines were DOST-TAPI-assisted startups KoolGear, PasaJob, Pic-A-Talk, CirPro Innovations, and Fullmight Corp., together with I-COUNT, recipient of the DOST-TAPI National Invention Contest and Exhibition (NICE) 2026 Sibol Award for Outstanding. Throughout the event, the delegation engaged with prospective partners, promoted Philippine-developed technologies, and highlighted locally developed solutions capable of addressing real-world challenges across different industries.

The participation reinforced DOST-TAPI’s commitment to accelerating the internationalization of Filipino innovations by creating opportunities for technology promotion, market validation, partnership development, and future commercialization initiatives through its SPICE Program.

Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Romulo Victor Israel Jr. underscored the value of participating in international innovation platforms, describing them as important avenues for strengthening the country’s innovation ecosystem and creating new opportunities for Philippine technologies.

“This is a platform where we can interact with international companies and explore opportunities for our country to develop the innovation industry in the Philippines and to invite more investors to come to the Philippines,” the Consul General said.

He added that platforms like LEAP East Hong Kong 2026 help startups move promising technologies from incubation to commercialization by providing access to global networks, potential collaborators, and market opportunities.

For Filipino startups, participating in international technology events extends beyond showcasing products. These engagements allow innovators to benchmark their technologies against global developments, better understand industry trends, validate market demand, and build relationships that can support research collaboration, technology transfer, business growth, and future investment.
