Most of us are so tired during the middle of the week due to stress at work, bills to pay and some negative vibes that we met at the rest of the day. Most of us don’t even have a time to take care of ourselves and we rather go to sleep straight at home. But not being conscious in our body has its effects…most of it are bad ones. It can lead to sickness, more stress and health risk that will trigger as we aged. There’s a lot of health remedies and workout routines out there whose aim is to make us physically and mentally healthy. And one of the cheapest exercise that I’m doing so far is running.
Running is one of the cardio-vascular workout that people from different walks of life becomes their usual exercise routine. Here in the Philippines, running has become very famous in different areas of life. Every Sundays you will see a lot of people running to various kinds of fun run and marathon events. Some of them, Professional Athletes or ordinary people alike, are either competing or just making it a habit being at the road, on trail road, everywhere. Before going to these races events, most of us are training our body first by jogging, cross-fit drills, speed and muscle training for us to be fit and healthy beforehand. But due to our busy days at work and some financial situations, we cannot afford to go to some fitness gyms and buy those expensive gears to keep up our program. Good thing there’s some running clinics in the metro that you can find. One of the running training group that I’d been with for a long time is the Wednesday Group of Runners.
Wednesday Group of Runners was build by a group of runners in Bonifacio Global City where they’re train kinds of running programs every Wednesday night to prepare their bodies before race days. Being at the group for almost 3 years, Wednesday group of runners has been my nearest and cheapest training area where all the runners like me are really growing not just in running but also in knowledge in different sports and in character.

- THE TRAINING IS FREE FOR EVERYONE!
No talent fees, no registration fees. It’s free. Well, the hydration and some of the gears (like yoga mats etc.) are self-carried for runners themselves. Yet, it is way cheaper and way better than going to an expensive gyms just to train and shed some sweat. You don’t need to pay for the coaches because the Wednesday group of Runners is an advocacy program which aim is to help fellow runners train and build their fitness growth with no cost at all.
- THE COACHES ARE ALL POWER ATHLETES AND PROFESSIONAL RUNNERS
You can expect power training from our Professional Coaches whose expert in the running industry for years. They’re been to different running clubs and clinics where they train other running aspirants and even the professional ones. You can see them compete and win to variety of race competitions and you can also admire the good characters of these coaches in handling their students. They’re will be your good running companion in and out the running trainings.
- EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND
You can make new friends and running mates in this group. Boy, Girl, LGTB people are very welcome to join and hop on to the training. Some of the Running groups out there are also training most of the time at this wednesday group like the Fabulous Running Divas , Team USB, The Running Photographers, etc.These are the kind of people you’ll enjoy being with and nice to be with. The people who you can invite after trainings for foodtrip and bondings. They are also approachable and fun to talk with from race facts to everything under the sun. For they are just like you and me; being from different walks of life, bonding and running together every Wednesday night.
- THE TRAINING PROGRAMS ARE ALL IN ONE BODY WORKOUT.
We’re not training inside a gym or any fitness facilities but the programs that the Coaches provides have consist of variety of workout programs that is fit not just for running but also for different sport events and weight loss as well. The programs are weekly presented by the coaches and you’ll expect that most of it are all total body workouts that is cheaper and accessible to bring with you when you want some “self-training” time for yourself like speed drills, cross-fit exercises and more. The great thing about it, you can really see some changes with your body as you continue training with it and the next thing you knew, from simple 3k fun run, you can upgrade to compete to full marathons (and maybe ultramarathons too).
- IT’S THE BEST PLACE TO CELEBRATE YOUR RUNNING VICTORIES, ANNIVERSARIES, EVENTS
We annually celebrate our WGR anniversary and Christmas parties in a very fun and festive way. Yes, you can still expect some small jogs along the way, but celebrating your birthday, your race victories or anything you want to celebrate is always fun to share with the members of this group. Potlucks are highly encouraged to share and feast for everyone and just like any good parties, party games and raffles are mostly present during the event. This is the celebration that you cannot miss. On the daily basis, you can share and be a channel of blessings as well to others by sharing anything from food to race items etc. Because richness is all about being generous towards your running mates with a willing and cheerful heart!
