Home Credit Philippines has recently joined the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) and the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce (PLCC) to further cement its commitment to achieving gender equality and inclusion in the workplace.

A signing ceremony which was held at Ore Central in BGC, Taguig City, was attended by Home Credit International Chief People Officer Renata Mrazova, Home Credit Philippines’ Chief People Officer Alpha Omega Aquino, Head of Public Relations Ken Lerona, PBCWE Executive Director Julia Abad, PLCC Chairperson Raymond Astillas, and other representatives from the organizations.

“We at Home Credit celebrate all facets of diversity. Our global commitment to promoting equality and inclusion among our employees is present in all markets where Home Credit is operating. We found beauty by being represented by a diverse roster of talents and recognizing each individual regardless of their nationality, origin, orientation, identity, etc. We want to make Home Credit a safe place — a home that embraces diversity and inclusion for our employees,” shares Home Credit International CPO Renata Mrazova.

This partnership of Home Credit Philippines with PBCWE and PLCC will help the company engage in policy reform work for gender equality and explore initiatives that will promote diversity, respect, fairness, empowerment, and equality in the workplace. Both organizations are also set to put structure to the DEI efforts of Home Credit Philippines and create diverse and systematic initiatives for its employees.

“We are happy to join PBCWE and PLCC in sealing our promise to gender equality and inclusion at Home Credit Philippines. We take pride in this milestone as this signifies our commitment to creating programs that give our employees equal rights and opportunities in the workplace. We are confident that through this partnership, we will create a safer and healthier environment for all our employees in the company,” shares Home Credit Philippines’ CPO Alpha Omega Aquino.

As part of the process, Home Credit Philippines will undergo the Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies (GEARS), an assessment tool that will analyze and understand the current state of Workplace Gender Equality (WGE) within the company. GEARS will provide Philippine-specific data to form a baseline of information used to create policies, guidelines, and projects and make decisions to promote more diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Home Credit Philippines’ top management and leaders will also attend a high-level executive course about Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE). This training will show the leaders how they play a vital role in championing equality within the company and inculcate gender awareness and sensitivity from top to bottom of the organization.

Before the company joined the coalitions, Home Credit Philippines had already implemented projects and participated in events such as Pride Month and International Women’s Month to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Its commitment to equality is also reflected in its talents with a gender ratio of 50/50, and people management, where women occupy key positions in the company.

Home Credit Philippines goes beyond just gender, nationality, culture, and background. The company is committed to building an inclusive community that provides equal opportunities to every individual in the workplace.
