LG Electronics recently provided much-needed relief to the communities of Barangay Planters and Barangay Anak Pawis 2 in Westbank Drive, Cainta, Rizal, from August 1 to 3, and Barangay Malanday in Marikina City, from August 9 to 11. The initiative offered residents severely affected by Typhoon Carina a three-day free laundry service and appliance check-up.
As part of LG’s ongoing commitment to CSR and community service, LG Electronics established a mobile laundry station in the center of the barangays, providing essential aid to families still recovering from the typhoon’s destructive impacts. LG set up 11 washer and dryer units, operating from 8 AM to 5 PM, to offer free laundry services, ensuring that the community had access to clean clothing when they needed it most.
The service camp provided assistance to a total of 131 families in Barangay Planters and 149 families in Barangay Anak Pawis 2, benefiting 280 families across both barangays. In Marikina, an additional 287 families from Barangay Malanday were served, bringing the total number of families supported by LG’s initiative to 567.
The mobile laundry stations, equipped with state-of-the-art washing machines and dryers, provided residents with the convenience of having their clothes washed and dried for free. Alongside this, LG’s team of skilled technicians offered free service check-up, minor repairs, and even discounted prices for washer parts for home appliances, helping residents restore their homes to working order.
Abenson and Smile Serve, their sales/service partner, also gave support for the LG Service Camp and extended help to the families affected by the typhoon. Abenson rolled out their CSR campaign Abenson Project Cares by donating laundry detergents and fabric conditioners along with foldable fans to the families who participated.
LG Philippines Managing Director, Mr. Nakhyun Seong emphasized the company’s dedication to aiding communities in times of need. “Through this initiative, we aimed to provide practical help and a sense of comfort to the residents of Cainta and Marikina. It’s our way of showing that LG is a partner in the journey to recovery and resilience.”
LG Electronics remains committed to supporting communities in need and will continue to explore opportunities to extend its services and aid to other areas affected by natural disasters across the Philippines.
