San Lazaro Hospital is one of the first hospitals who encountered COVID-19 cases here in the country. Few weeks later, the number of their patients kept on increasing due to lack of Personal Protective Equipment that can be use to protect our medical Frontliners. And they’re not the only hospital having this difficulty.
In fact, many hospitals around the country are still having a hard time protecting themselves against this infectious virus. And majority needed for these hospitals are complete Personal Protective Equipment that will enable them to do their job while protecting their own health and welfare.
That’s why SM Foundation took action in this matter as they delivered several personal protective equipment (PPEs) to San Lazaro Hospital on March 28, 2020. To lower the risk of exposure for medical professionals handling COVID-19 patients, SM donated proper protective equipment, N95 masks, surgical masks, alcohol, goggles and gloves.
SM pledged PHP170 million to aid 50 hospitals nationwide in overcoming the COVID-19 crisis. And that’s enough to see that the foundation do care for the welfare and safety of our Frontliners and Filipino people.
