I love watching cartoons when I was a kid. And a lot of kids at their age loves to do the same way as well. It gives us that thrill and excitement to be whatever we want to be in our imaginary world. It also gives us the freedom to be joyful and enthusiast in everything around us, despite of the negative vibes of our surroundings.
As a kid, one of the cartoons that I really love to watch (until now as an adult) are “Superbooks” and “The Flying House” that I usually watched every afternoon. The concept and stories of these shows really inspire me as a kid to be like the characters. More than that, the stories of the Bible and knowing the Living God is what really inspires me to watch more of these shows.
Now that I’m an adult, saved by the grace of God, I still believe to the power of the message of these show that I would love to share with my students, especially with my children and grandchildren someday.
Last year, ABS-CBN Network launched the comeback of one of the most memorable Christian-cartoon show of all time. “Superbooks” came with a better digital animation and a broader concept about the stories of the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. And because of that, a lot of children from today’s generation are learning and being mold by the Gospel of salvation of God. Which is really awesome because most of the young generation today, don’t know these things anymore. And more than teaching it at school alone, parents should have the responsibility to know and decide what is suitable for their children to watch. And good thing that these shows represent more than just good moral lessons but How God loves His people like us.
In addition for the airing of “Superbook” at ABS-CBN, the other classic Christian-anime from CBN Asia “The Flying House” is now showing at ABS-CBN together with the “Superbook”. Yes, you read that right. Everyone’s favorite children’s anime series, “The Flying House,” is back!
“We want to bless the children of the Philippines with the Word of God through animation that’s why we are re-airing ‘The Flying House.’ It has blessed millions of people from the ‘80s and there is a new generation now that can also be blessed by it,” said John Tan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CBN Asia, Inc. “The gospel can be quite difficult for children to understand,” Tan continued, “but through animation which is one of the easiest forms of media that children can watch, today’s generation can really be more attuned to God’s Word. May it be the light that guides them as they grow up,” he added.
For the showing launch of “The Flying House” at ABS-CBN, plus the 1st anniversary of “Superbook” as a Kapamilya, CBN Asia, Inc., in partnership with ABS-CBN Network celebrates with all the “Batang Superbook” with the event, “Fly High Adventures for All Time” which happened last July 19, at the activity center of Market! Market!, BGC Taguig City.
Kids and kids at heart from all walks of life reminised once again, as the event gave the participants, especially the adult ones a nostalgic vibe, remembering their own “Superbook and The Flying House” days.
More than just superbooks and flying house activities for the kids, the event also entertained the crowd with the live performances of some kapamilya stars from The Voice of the Philippines alumni and artists.
The event, more than just to celebrate a milestone, is aiming to encourage the public to make these shows as a weekend habit for the family and let the children learn more about the importance of reading the Bible and live in the ways of God.
“The Flying House” is a children’s anime series produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network and airs every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on ABS-CBN and back to back with Superbook Reimagined every Sunday, 9:30 a.m.
