Teacher Insights: How “Scan to Pay” Help Me with my “Last-Minute” Summer Escapade Shopping

Being a blogger for five years has its perks and learnings. I become the writer/photographer/videographer/content researcher/social media marketing officer/influencer/model and all possible roles to make sure that my website is informative and inspirational to my readers. Other than writing, I have to make sure that I know how to keep up with the trends and be reliable to everything I post.

So part of my work is to try new ways of making lives easier and colorful for my readers to emulate. One of them is to keep track of what’s new and “techie” to Millenials everywhere. So far, the way people shop nowadays are consists of two things: fast transactions and convenience. And more than the trends, most people are now getting hooked on how “cashless transactions” can make every shopping experience fast, hassle-free, and safe.

Because I want to keep up with what’s new and hip to my fellow Millenials, I challenged myself to go and shop for my blogging essentials: “summer escapade shopping edition” without using cash. Because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, I only have limited time to go and shop at different malls and establishments without carrying a large amount of money in my wallet. So with that last-minute shopping, here are the 3 things I learned best about “cashless transactions:”

No more long-line ATM Time for Cash.

Because of Cashless Transactions via “Scan to Pay,” there’s no need for me to wait long lines to get cash at ATM or Bank. The best part: no transaction fee needed when I use my smartphone to pay at the cashier. And my privacy is secured as well, no need to share my PIN code to anyone. That’s hassle-free transaction indeed.

No More Carrying Many Bulky Wallets and Cards

There are some struggles and dangers in carrying many Debit/Credit cards inside your bag. I often have hassle-time moments when I use my debit cards, especially during busy times. I need to search and shuffle each card before I get to my debit card, and that’s time-consuming. What’s convenient about the cashless transaction is I can just simply get my smartphone, open my GCash app, “Scan to Pay,” and that’s it. What a beautiful way to shop, pay, and go!

“Scan to Pay” is Easier and Hassle-free

When you’re in the middle of Enhanced Community Quarantine, shopping should be fast, efficient, and convenient. Since most shopping malls are closed and we’re under curfew, I have to find more ways to make my time sufficient and fast, getting all my shopping needs done within the day.  With “Scan-to-Pay” features of GCash, it gave me more time to catch up with my summer shopping list and wander around for greater deals.

And since many establishments and shops have GCash “Scan to Pay” feature, it’s easier for me to pay for my needs and come home on time (especially now the transportation is very limited.)

Because of COVID-19 Pandemic and Enhanced Community Quarantine, all of us are spending our summer vacation in the comfort of our home. But it doesn’t mean the productivity and fun have to stop. Because of GCash “Scan to Pay,” I was able to buy my summer essentials for my blog and personal needs without bulky wallets and possible contact with the virus. Making “Scan to Pay” more convenient and safe in these trying times.
