Shawarma is considered as an authentic Arabic dish which also refers as a sandwich or wrap made with shawarma meat from the Middle East. Now at the newly-flourished BGC Stopover, “Shawarma Bros” has something “different to offer to all Shawarma lovers out there.
Shawarma Bros once started as a food truck rowing around Pasig City. But now it has a savory store branch at BGC, they’re mission is to bring that “different Shawarma experience” like you’d never had before to all the BGC hoppers out there.
It was last night when I toured one of my friends from Malaysia to try one of the food places that the new BGC Stopover has to offer. We spontaneously went to Shawarma Bros and here’s our experience went by:
THE INTERIOR
The place looks spacious and neat. There’s nothing glamorous about it, but the “food truck-meets-street food” theme of the restaurant makes it interesting to dine-in. They’re also posting some pictures of their customers from Instagram on their wall to acknowledge them. You can easily smell the good aroma of Shawarma once you enter the establishment that makes it more appetizing for us to eat.
(One request, though, since you’re promoting your restaurant on Instagram, please put a WiFi Connection for us to post more pics. We can also help with the promotion etc. just as you know).
THE FOOD
They had a variety of Shawarma dishes to choose from and since I am a rice lover, having Shawarma rice meals is indeed a good deal. You can choose from different sauces you want and like any shawarma place, our order was delivered fresh, right straight from the kitchen.
We both ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap Meal and Beef Shawarma Wrap Meal for a cost of 169php per meal. The serving of the shawarma for me is a bit small for 169php. But I commend their chicken and beef strips for being tasty and juicy. It is not dry nor rough to chew. They just need to improve with their wrap since it’s a bit cold, but I enjoy eating the whole toppings (did I mention that their veggies are fresh?).
They also need to improve the taste of their in-house Ice Tea since it tastes like it has more sugar than the usually brewed one.
THE SERVICE
The food was delivered fast and on the dot to our table by their service crew. We might encounter some irate customer before we order, but I commend their patience and determination to bring the service that we deserve. And they eager to solve some conflicts like that.
THE PRICE
Having a Shawarma meal for 169php was a bit costly for me, especially that I’m on a budget. Which by the way I can’t blame them because the way I see the store branch. But in terms of the flavor, the service and the interior of the place, Shawarma Bros makes it easy for me to spend my payday check.
