Teacher’s Insights: What I learned from Samantha Clayton about the Importance of Nutrition in Healthy Aging?

I have to admit it, my body is starting to age in a negative way. With all the stress eating and late night work, my metabolism starting to slow down, making it so hard to rise up every morning. And most people from the work place had a same scenario too. According to the survey findings made by Herbalife Nutrition, 96% of Filipino-respondents are concerned about the potential health issues caused by aging, citing heart-related, bone/joint-related, eye-related issues topping their list of concerns. However, despite the high levels of concern, 94% of respondents agree that they can take active steps to help age healthily.


To provide a solution to this issues, Herbalife Nutrition launched its 8th Asia Pacific Wellness Tour. Taking place from September 4 to October 26, the Tour will feature a series of medical symposia, nutrition talks and health workshops held in cities across Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Led by Dr. John Agwunobi, the Chief Health and Nutrition Officer at Herbalife Nutrition, members of the Herbalife Nutrition leadership and the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) will share their expertise on a variety of health-related topics, to help Asia Pacific consumers live better and healthier lives.


As part of this wellness tour, the Senior Director for Sports Performance and Fitness of HerbalifeNutrition Samantha Clayton visited the Philippines and share expert advice on healthy active lifestyle. During our presscon, I learned how this Super mom of 4 (including triplets!) takes healthy aging seriously that compels her to be an advocate. Here are things I learned from her: 

1.Every Move COUNTS

You can never expect healthy bodies by just sitting down and watch TV. Clayton explained that every move we do in our daily activities is important to make our bodies more active than none. 

2. A Nutritious Food intake is the KEY


I often heard that most of out fitness well-being are based from the food we eat. Samantha teaches us how important nutrition is for athletes and for everyone. Despite of our busy routine, she advices us to get healthy food on-the-go which is packed with nutrients needed for our body. 3. Seek MORE activities even at Work.
