Sports here in the Philippines are taking its high peak and athletes today are on the rise in giving our country winning titles for every competition. Seeing these athletes winning makes our hope and love for the sports arise, but seeing how they train for it every single day is another story. Training is hard as going there towards victory. Even young athletes can attest to it. I’d seen many of my student’s juggling themselves between academics and sports training. It’s exhausting and burnout for them to adjust. That’s why support system, well-quality training and right nutrition is one of the essential factors for an athlete’s growth and development in sports like football.
Alaska Milk Corporation continues its advocacy to help children positive values and good nutrition through participation in sports with the holding of the 21st Alaska Football Cup at the Alabang Country Cup in Ayala Alabang Village last November 26 and 27.
Football athletes and aspirants, ages from 6 years old and beyond from different schools and organization teams, are gathered to compete and interact with other participants in the longest-running and most successful grassroots development program in local football.
Wilfred Uytengsu, President, and CEO of Alaska Milk Corporation stated that this year’s Alaska Football Cup “marks another monumental event for Alaska Milk.” The competition has gathered 320 teams and total of 4,800 football players together in one venue, all united by their love for football. Wilfred also stated that “It is a great pride that we witness how the Alaska Nutrition. Action. Champion. The program has engaged young athletes into this kind of culture, and how they live by the values inherent in sports.”
Alaska in Nourishing the Next Athlete Champions!
Looking at the core values of Alaska Milk in nurturing young athletes in a sport like a football, it takes a lot of discipline, hard work, determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These core values make Alaska Milk atop of its game. Looking at football, you have to get down on the field and be ready for the pain that comes to the training. The National Nutrition Survey of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) states that health issues are best addressed by adopting an active lifestyle along with a healthy diet and regular drinking of milk, at least twice daily. Football takes a lot of nutritional needs for an athlete’s body, especially the young ones. Alaska Milk aims to give the best nutrition possible for young kids and athlete aspirants.
And for that, Alaska Milk aims to encourage young athletes to join in these sports activities. Instead of engaging them in passive activities such as watching television, surfing the internet or spending too much time on social media, Alaska encourages children to engage in sports and outdoor as an active alternative to keep them active and physically and mentally strong.
Alaska Football Cup at its Highest peak!
This year’s Alaska Football Cup comes on the heels of the start of the ASEAN Football Federation’s Suzuki Cup with the Philippine National Football Team, the Azkals, participating. School teams and football clubs from all over the Philippines will participate and it will be played in 28 football fields with 168 game officials, ministering the competition.
More than just the competition, Alaska aims to develop the athletic and social skills of children through participation in sports tournaments. Children experience healthy competition among members of the same age group which boosts physical and mental development.
And that what makes Alaska Milk a CHAMPION CHOICE!
