TP Leads the Charge for Women’s Empowerment in Leadership at ANZCHAM Forum

TP in the Philippines, a global leader in digital business services, marks the start of International Women’s Month in the Philippines by amplifying the call for greater participation of women in leadership and enhanced opportunities for women across the country at the ANZCHAM International Women’s Day Forum.

The Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ANZCHAM) brought together influential women leaders, advocates, and allies from the government, private, and non-profit sectors in a powerful forum centered on the theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” The event served as a platform for thought-provoking discussions, shared experiences, and actionable insights aimed at advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls in all spheres of society.

TP participated in a panel discussion on “Empowering Women Across all Sectors”, where the company shared its achievements and best practices in building an ecosystem that fosters empowerment for women and people with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity and expression in the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) industry.

TP Women Chair & Executive Vice President of TP in the Philippines Toni Tompar shares valuable insights on Empowering Women Across Sectors alongside co-panelist Donna Grande, SVP of QBE GSSC, and moderator, Bela Gupta D’Souza, director of ANZCHAM and founder and CEO of Edamama.

Speaking to fellow women leaders, TP Women Chair and Executive Vice President Toni Tompar said, “TP has paved the way for women through the years. We’re proud of our milestone achievement of having 57% of women in leadership and we will continue to empower women with technology and other tools as we grow. Let us take inspiration amongst ourselves and derive strength from each other’s experiences as we move forward in our common cause.”

Tompar further emphasized how women empowerment programs are accelerated through TP Women by driving three strategic pillars: (1) increasing women leadership, engagement, and participation; (2) bringing meaningful opportunities for women, especially those in the margins; and (3) innovating to empower women in communities where TP operates and beyond.

Established in 2019, TP Women is an employee resource group of women-empowering-women within TP in the Philippines. TP Women aims to address challenges women face in the workplace and drive positive change within and beyond TP by creating and holding spaces that amplify women’s voices and aspirations.

TP is a party to UN’s Global Compact, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Women Empowerment Principles. Through collaborations and partnerships with advocate organizations, government agencies, and community organizations, TP continues to champion efforts that uphold women’s rights and welfare within and outside the workplace.

With technological and innovation-led disruption becoming more commonplace, the company is evolving its people programs, standards, and processes with Emotional Intelligence (EI) combined with upskilling efforts for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The evolution of our inclusion and diversity programs like TP Women integrates our high-tech, high-touch, and high standards approach. As AI solutions augment the capabilities of our people, we are enhancing their EI skills like empathy, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines.

In 2024, TP was recognized by the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles (UNWEPs) with the 1st Runner-Up Award for Gender-Inclusive Workplace. The company was the sole member of the IT-BPM industry to receive the recognition for extensive policies, programs, and initiatives that amplify the voices and growth opportunities of women in the workplace.
